Nations League draw LIVE: England and Wales set to learn fate for 2022-23 tournament

With the World Cup set to take place in winter next year, the Nations League offers the next opportunities for fans to get their usual summer football tournament fix.

France put their Euro 2020 disappointment behind them to land the second edition of the UEFA trophy back in October and will begin their defence from June this year.

Didier Deschamps’ side are among the big guns lining up in Pot 1 for the draw with Spain, Belgium and European champions Italy completing the quartet.

That means no place for England, who have to settle for a space in Pot 3 and the prospect of a tricky draw ahead, with both Portugal, Netherlands and Germany in Pot 2.

The Three Lions could potentially be handed a battle of Britain tie, too, with Wales among the candidates in Pot 4.
