John Lewis launches ‘Seconds’ sale on low budget ANYDAY range

JOHN Lewis’ already low budget range now includes more products that you can get for even cheaper prices.

Some products in the exclusive ANYDAY collection have been labelled “Seconds”, which means they display minor defaults – but it means you can get them for even less.

Some of the posh products are as cheap as £2 in the extra discounted range

John Lewis is a typically pricey spot for shoppers to head for everyday items, so it’s usually a destination saved for gift finding or for big ticket items that you might have had your eye on all year.

The ANYDAY range was launched in April last year to bridge the gap between essentials and more luxury products though.

They were designed to rival prices of competitors like Ikea who offer products for more wallet conscious customers.

Brits might have lucked out over Christmas though, and they may now be sitting on gift cards galore to spend at the store in the January sales.

It’s always a particular win if you can score more products as a result of them being reduced – but you shouldn’t splurge all your cash just because they’re advertised at low prices, have a shop around before you commit to a buy.

Though shoppers after a bargain are certainly in luck.

John Lewis has now introduced a section under the budget friendly range called “Seconds” which it says are hand-selected items plucked from production for not meeting the exceptionally high-quality standards.

They may have small defects or minor surface imperfections but they don’t impact the safety, strength, durability or beauty of the products the company revealed.

Currently it’s only tableware that you can get in the range, and in particular a collection called “Dine” that includes mugs, bowls, plates and more from prices as low as £2.

It wouldn’t be the first time shoppers have cottoned on to scoring cheaper prices at the posh store.

One John Lewis fan managed to slash her bill by as much as 70% after pointing out a minor defect to a store colleague who then gave her a discount.

So if you’re happy with slightly faulty items then you can be assured of a bargain price most of the time.

Here are some of the products you can get in the range for the meantime.
